Gaelic
Gaelic training is provided for all classes every Thursday. In April we
take part in the Co.
Leitrim town schools' league. Approximately six other
schools take part. We were not very successful this year
but we intend to do better next
year.

Basketball Basket is a great
game which we play during the Spring and Summer months. A league
between the senior classes is organised every year. It is
a great way to improve your skills at the game.

final in our Photo Gallery.

Chess
Chess
is a very good game for improving concentration and making your
mind sharp. This is why our school organizes a chess league.
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth take part.
Some of the more experienced
players have games with beginners. The experienced player
explains the rules as they go along.
At first, pupils are put into random
groups. They play each other once. When all games are completed,
those who take part are divided into divisions, according to the
points they have scored. The A League, the B League and the C
League begin.

Volleyball
We
really enjoy playing volleyball at PE times but in particular
when the leagues start every April. These matches are
organised for the senior classes during the 11 o'clock break.
Each team has an opportunity to take part in 12 games each. The top teams play in the final.
Winners and runners-up win medals.

Hurling
A hurling coach takes the senior
classes for at least a term to teach us hurling skills.

Sport's Day
The highlight of our sporting year is
the school sports day, held each year in June. The day is
chosen and if the weather permits we all head to the pitch at
the back of the school to take part in sprints, long races and
novelty events.

action in this year's event. |
